WriteMark Plain English Awards Trust

The WriteMark Plain English Awards Trust was formed in 2008 to promote plain English by organising and hosting the WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards. The Trust operates on a not-for-profit basis, supported by sponsorship and donations.

Tax credits or deductions for donations to the Trust

The Trust is registered for ‘donee organisation status’ with the Inland Revenue Department. Organisations that make donations to the Trust will be able to claim tax credits or deductions.

  • Non-corporate donors, and Maori authorities, can claim a tax credit for one-third of the amount they donate, up to the level of their annual net income.
  • Corporate donors can claim a tax deduction for the amount they donate, up to the level of 5% of their annual net income.

Please contact Christopher Travers by email on christopher@plainenglishawards.org.nz, or call 04 801 2550, if you would like to make a donation to the Trust.
