From Swahili to Samoan, Jayne Dalmer’s world of words hasn’t always been in plain English. Born in England, and raised in Kenya, Singapore, Kiribati, and New Zealand, Jayne’s love of languages and other cultures drives her desire for all of us to understand and be understood.
Jayne studied psychology and linguistics at Victoria University of Wellington, and journalism at Wellington Polytechnic. A 10-year career in government communications led to a freelance path in writing and editing, and to being a plain English consultant for Write Limited.
Jayne has worked in New Zealand, England, Russia, Germany, Thailand, Samoa, Hong Kong, and is now based in Indonesia. Here, she runs her business, Word Famous, and works at the New Zealand Embassy in Jakarta.
