Daphne Perry originally trained as a barrister. She practised (as Daphne Loebl) at the commercial bar for 12 years until 1997, when Chambers' Directory included her in the top 11 juniors for commercial work in London. She then worked for another 12 years as a professional support lawyer in a City of London law firm.
A keen member of Clarity, the international association for plain language in the law, and now its UK representative, Daphne is quoted in the Law Society's textbook Clarity for Lawyers (2007) and was for 3 years Plain Language Co-ordinator for Denton Wilde Sapte LLP. In 2010 Daphne set up ClarifyNow, to provide plain English training, writing and consultancy for law and business.
