We're delighted with winning the People’s choice best document award in the 2011 WriteMark Plain English Awards. When we send electoral enrolment documents to all registered voters we are very mindful of the vast age range, cultural diversity and varying abilities to read and understand English of the recipients. We need to express our requirements and pass-on information in the simplest way we can using plain English. It is incredibly important that people are not disenfranchised because of a poorly designed document. As a result, we continuously test, refine and re-test our documents to ensure they're easily understood and simple to fill in.
