This is a good example of plain English and document design.

Media statement

We are delighted to be named a finalist in the WriteMark Plain English Awards for our Statement of Intent 2014–2018.

As a government agency in the creative sector, we are painfully aware of how hard it is to write a formal document such as an SOI that is both clear and engaging. We place a high value on good communication with our stakeholders and view the SOI as our most important communication with them.

We also recognise that every communication with stakeholders needs to be clear and easy to read. With this in mind we have begun a comprehensive review of our funding contracts, and will be continuing with workplace training and document improvements to ensure all of our communications meet a high standard.

Our thanks to the judges for the positive feedback and encouragement. We’ll be back next year with more.
