Winner of the Best New Zealand Plain English Website award

‘National Library of New Zealand is honoured to receive the Best New Zealand Plain English Website award for www.natlib.govt.nz.
The site was relaunched in March 2007 after an extensive redevelopment project, in which every word was rewritten in accordance with a new set of writing guidelines. More than 100 staff were involved in this process; the award therefore recognises not only the work of the team that runs the site but the Library as a whole.
We're working hard to connect the public with information in a clear and engaging way. This award is welcome recognition that we are succeeding.’
