Ever since I joined Dynamic Controls, my colleagues in the Europe branch advised me that I was writing for an international audience. This required the extensive use of graphics and simple English, which made the documents easier to translate and more readable for non-native and native speakers alike. Any document is ultimately a team effort, and the excellent comments and advice I have received over the years from especially Mark Dolphin and Iain Lazenby have been a great contribution in shaping my plain English writing style. For this reason, I want to dedicate my place as a finalist also to them.
