Entry criteria for Category 2: Best Plain English Document

There are two awards in this category — Public / Non-Government Organisation (NGO) Sector and Private Sector. The awards recognise the best examples of plain English documents from each sector.

As part of the judging process, entries are assessed against the WriteMark Plain English Standard.

Public / NGO sector

This award is open to all public sector organisations and NGOs. Each organisation may enter up to three complete documents written by their organisation. Entries should be:

  • whole documents, rather than extracts
  • no more than 10 pages *.

Private sector

This award is open to all private sector organisations. Each organisation may enter up to three complete documents written by their organisation. Entries should be:

  • whole documents, rather than extracts
  • no more than 10 pages *.
