Joh Kirby is a lawyer and principal at Maze Consulting, a boutique consulting firm that specialises in working with boards to make them more effective. A significant focus is how clear communication can improve board decision making and effectiveness.

For 8 years Joh was the Executive Director of the Victoria Law Foundation, a statutory body in Victoria, Australia that focuses on educating the community in the law. In this role she advocated for improving the quality of community legal information.

Joh has written and presented extensively on the topic of effective communication, both in Australia and overseas. In 2010, Joh received a Churchill Fellowship to research best practice legal information, and has written a guide for lawyers in this area.
